Nadine Christensen: Mix Up Table, 2009

We’ve stumbled across Uplands Gallery of Melbourne Australia, a gallery that continually exhibits some noteworthy artists. Since cramming these artists into one post wouldn’t do them justice, B/D is presenting another 3-part series to spotlight the best of Uplands.

Nadine Christensen

Nadine Christensen is an Australian native who studied at both Monash University and the Victorian College of Arts and continues to live and work in Melbourne. Nadine presents in her paintings concoctions of disparate objects, natural & man-made. And although these unexpected arrangements are formed with more or less depthless objects on shallow planes, there still exists a great deal of active depth. She works primarily as an acrylic painter, however, Nadine has stretched beyond the 2-D canvas to bring full depth to her aesthetic in the forms of sculpture & installation. Nadine’s latest show at Uplands Gallery entitled Help Me Make it Through the Night exhibited in December of 2009.
