Artist always need to make their homes different. We collect designer furniture, find old design treasures at flea markets and estate sales, and go the extra mile to make our homes uniquely ours. Apparently the same goes for the artsy neighborhood of Neustadt Kunsthofpassage in Dresden, Germany. Designed by Christoph Roßner, Annette Paul, and Andre Tempel who all live in the building, the rain gutter house is truly a work of kinetic art bringing together rainfall and a complex system of rain gutters that weave in and out of one another on the buildings facade. The result is a musical symphony of sound everytime it rains, making the house one of the largest instruments and an awesome display of what a bit of creativity can create! Watch a video of the house in action after the jump!

Bradford Haubrich creates wondrous works of art containing a set of iconography culled from personal experiences and past memories. His work ranges from two dimensional paintings on found wood, to clocks and hand made mugs, and even a large scale installation containing a series of wooden flumes that dispense beer.

I have never heard anyone utter a word of dislike towards Yuichi Yokoyama‘s work, and for good reason. Personally, I have never come across a comic artist this flawless and complete. His style is immediately recognizable, but never tedious, and his works are as spectacular as Hollywood action films, yet they can be about visiting a garden, traveling on a train, or building strange forms of shelter. He reinvigorated my interest in comics, and I hope he can do the same for you (if needed).

The entire city was in a panic dubbing the weekend of closed freeway access Carmageddon. Luckily the traffic wasn’t too bad but I always wished I could see the process of taking down such a large bridge in just a few days. Filmmaker James Miller recently heard about a similar situation in the UK and jumped on the chance to videotape the process. Shot in gorgeous time lapse you can now witness what it’s like to take down a major bridge in just 24 hours. Watch James’ video after the jump.
