Video artist Ben Bigelow is curating an event “Jupiter And Beyond The Infinite” video screening/gallery opening tonight at 7pm (with screenings at 9 and 11pm) @ Synchronicity Gallery in LA: Deep-space excursions that reveal the dark matter of pop culture, absurdist mythologies that transcend into tear jerking dramas…all can be found in “Jupiter And Beyond The Infinite.” This forthcoming show at Synchronicity Space opens on July 31st with a video screening including 19 unique artists. 2-D and 3-D artifacts from the videos will accompany the screening and be on display throughout August. Those looking to travel through a black hole and keep your boots on: look no further. Check out more of his work after the jump.
Are you tired of totin’ around your goods in a trashed out purse? If you’re guilty of carting your art supplies, clothes, overnight gear or even puppy in a pimped out hole-filled plastic bag (as B/D mascot, Ziggy, models above)…..then it might be time for a new purse! Thankfully Beautiful/Decay and Moop are coming to your rescue! We are giving away one Market Bag (images after the jump), which features tons of pouches, d-rings for cell phones and keys, zipper pockets and more. All you have to do is send a photo of your wrecked purse (you can get creative and make one as well, like we did). Most horrifically un-stylish bag will get swapped out with a new one in any color of your choice, ’cause, we’ll probably feel sorry for you.

I was snooping around Cargofolio today and found this lovely gem. Not only is Yu Jie Wu an amazing experimental photographer, he is a high school student. I am consistently impressed by how ambitious and talented some of the artists from the younger generation are. His work explores time, motion and repetition within a single scene. I see a lot of work that uses repetitive imagery, but I think that Yu Jie Wu has done it better. He is subtle, and the images he chooses to repeat force the viewer to notice small differences, or recognize that there is sometimes no difference at all.
Ari Abramczyk is a Los Angeles based fashion photographer specializing in underwater photography. I love how Abramczyk creates an added layer of interest in her photos with vivid colors and light patterns. She really utilizes the unique qualities of water in her photos. Granted, all things underwater look pretty cool, Abramczyk just makes it cooler.
