Oakland’s Mark Schaer started making collages a year ago and has already amassed some great work. Mark’s digital collages source images of fashion models, comic books, celebrities, athletes and much more and combines them in sometimes chaotic, sometimes understated ways. When the first few images had “The King of Kong” cast and Freddie Gibbs, I knew this guy was cool.

Went to a show of Mr. Schaer’s work a while back. let me just say this guy if f****-in cool! Where does he get his off-the-wall, wacky combinations? But it all flows together and works! You can spend hours looking at his compositions and slowly things start falling together and you see the links. I am now the proud owner of an original Schaer, and can’t say I’ve figured the whole thing out yet! Very jmpressed with this artist…..
