Michael Knutson

Michael Knutson

Magical mystical fractals! Sometimes you get hit with the geometric abstraction stick, and sometimes you don’t, and it’s plain to see that Michael Knutson got hit over the head with it. Knutson has also been a professor of art at Reed College in Oregon for the last 30 years, so go ahead and assume that he knows a thing or two about his craft. More at Blackfish Gallery and Greg Kucera Gallery.

Sebastian Wahl

Sebastian Wahl

I’ve walked past this mural on 2nd Street just east of Bowery on my way home a bunch of times, but for whatever reason, it finally caught my eye last week. And wouldn’t you know it, the guy who made it has a super sweet website full of amazing artwork! Sebastian Wahl is originally from Stockholm, but now works out of a studio in the South Bronx. Using a resin based technique, he creates psychedelically super-charged mandalic inspired collages.

Picture 5

To celebrate the launch of our latest Spring 2010 apparel line, we organized a weekend fashion shoot, on our very own rooftop of the B/D offices here in beautiful downtown LA. The result was our Spring 2010 lookbook, which has been getting some great reviews amongst our fellow bloggers! So, we’ve decided to round them up here and send some of the love back for all the great things they’ve been saying. Check out some quotes after the jump!

“Growing Young”

Awesome Video Of The Day: Space Monkey

Sometimes I wish I was a monkey who traveled to exotic places like space. Until that happens I can just watch this video created as a collaboration between World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Ben Lee and Leo Burnett, “Space Monkey” carries a message about our planet, and features Ben Lee’s track, “Song for the Divine Mother of the Universe”.
