There is something wrong in Jason Murphy’s portraits. He illustrates people who appear to have a few screws loose. Their often asymmetrical faces dawn either a look of certain absence or of urgent excitement. This is all contrasted of course by his beautiful, delicate mark-making that which feels so light, and feathery.

I genuinely enjoy some of Edward Lipski’s thickly applied mixed media sculptures. He works with all kinds of materials to create these amazingly entertaining, and somewhat creepy pieces.

This stop-motion animation of Tetris is just one part of French-Swiss artist Guillaume Reymond‘s project Game Over. Guillaume has also directed Space Invaders, and Pong! I haven’t heard anyone mention Pong in a long time.

Robert Minervini’s paintings are an accurate representation of how the true Los Angeles appears to me. Polluted atmosphere, palm trees (not native to LA) implanted everywhere, crumbling and tired buildings, freeway ramps… this is what my home looks like.
