Choreographer, Willi Dorner, brought together a group of artists in New York to participate in his performance piece, Bodies in Urban Space. The artists go around to different parts of Manhattan to confine themselves together into architecturally specific shapes, conveying the idea of the restrictions we face physically, emotionally, and spiritually living in such a structure dominant space.

"Forever Bicycles"

Beijing-based activist-critic-curator-artist Ai Weiwei has survived internal bleeding just last year from police brutality for uncovering scandals circling the Sichuan earthquake student casualties (but really, China isn’t that scary, until you try to do something they don’t like), and unveiled his new installation at the Tate Modern. Entitled “Sunflower Seeds,” the piece is a corner to corner spread of porcelain sunflower seeds all individually hand-fired hand-painted, and all one of a kind. Sydney-based illustrator, Jirat Patradoon, creates strong, masculine, and drama-packed illustrations of masked protagonists inside an almost comic book-like world. He recently featured his work at a solo show in the Sydney-based Boutwell Draper Gallery, and has made an appearance in our new Beautiful/Decay Book 4.
