Ryan Trecartin has done it again in his spread for W magazine (released last month), responding with the complete mastery over emblems of consumer culture and social networking. The traditional fashion spread has become unrecognizable in its form yet perfectly familiar in its content and heavy use of symbols and signs. For the online conception fashion magazine DIS, titled Web 1.0, the artist has made his creative and production process visible: a shot list with a myriad of influences described and called out to the last detail. The dizzying list definitely qualifies as an art piece.

I never really got into Star Wars but I know more than a few Cult members are Mega Star Wars nerds so I’m posting this. Don’t say I don’t love you.
Stephanie Davidson makes digital collages out of everyday objects. This may sound like an overly simple concept but her selection of objects and their arrangements are both bizarre and humorous. The Cornrow pile after the jump is by far my favorite.
Apparently Mr. Olaf Hajek can do everything well but I especially love his paintings. There’s some intense layering going on and the colors are complex and lush.
I’m loving Sac Magique’s gritty and textured illustrations. The toxic avenger above is particularly nice.
