I’m a collector and his work is such a problem in my city. All this guy does is copy ideas from other Toronto artist’s work and re-forms it as his own:
No one own an image. Photography is an act of reproduction, and art photography now is a regurgitation images, from both popular culture, and a stream of overwhelmed collection of images (the internet). The only way to create something new in this state of contemporary photography is to recontextualize it with your own conceptual, your own vision. Whether that vision is obscured by reference or personal experience.
