It should come as no surprise that we love a bit of decay in anything beautiful and Heikki Leis’ gorgeously lit  series Afterlife is the perfect marriage of the two. His photos of rotting food and  macro zooms of mold and decay have enough beauty and decay for the most diehard Cult Of Decay member.  Long live Beautiful Decay!

Transforming structures into massive portraits, Nomerz changes the urban landscape into unexpected faces that reimagine their surroundings into giant pink faced expressions of joy, anger, excitement, and contemplation. Olivier De Sagazan’s brutal paintings, sculptures, and performances are somewhere between early Nine Inch Nails videos and the nightmares that Tim Burton has after watching his own movies.

Portraits carved in marble have been around for hundreds of years but somehow Barry X. Ball has managed to bring a new twist to this ancient material with some minor tweaks like using the veins and swirls in the marble to his advantage. A great selection of Ball’s exquisite sculptures in a massive variety of stone after the jump.

If you work all day in front of a computer then you will without a doubt relate to this Modeselektor video  where two figures battle it out in a world full of videos within videos. I myself am always in a battle with my computer monitor where one window is closed only to reveal another window full of work and information that I have to digest.  The entire scenarios takes place on a computer monitor with the figures jumping back and forth from screen to screen creating a clever and playful effect courtesy of director Dent de Cuir.  Watch the full video after the jump!
