We got the day off today but here’s some good music videos to keep you going until we come back. Some of it is new, and some of it is decades old, but all are good. Who knows maybe you’ll findsomething new that you like (or hate).
One of the upsides to working downtown is the ability to walk to get lunch. I know everyone thinks that we never walk anywhere in LA but I’m here to say that I walk a solid two blocks to get lunch everyday. (Take that NYC!) So this week, I decided to take my trusty digi cam on my trek and see what’s new on our local street art spot. I’m not sure why this corner gets continually covered in posters but there is a new poster up on this thing every damn day.
Long time B/D pal Dave Kinsey (We featured Dave in our 1st full color issue) is having his first solo show in over two years at Joshua Liner Gallery next Thursday. Dave’s a great guy and a fantastic painter so go and support him for his big debut.

I wouldn’t mind watching commercials 24/7 if they all were filled with explosions, fire, and controlled chaos.
I first met Wendell after we interviewed him for an issue of B/D a few years back. You never know what artists will be like when you actually meet them but Wendell’s been one of the most sincere artists I’ve met in a while. We’ve been trading studio visits for around a year now and will be in a group show together later this month at Pedersen Projects in Pomona. Wendell is also getting ready for a solo show in October at Kravets|Wehby and a group show at Galerie Jean-Luc&Takako Richard in Paris so I stopped by his studio to check out the progress. Turns out Wendell had a studio jam packed full of massive paintings well on their way to being finished.
I’m not a big fan of cats but if this guy came across my path i’d pet it.
