Just found out about Timothy Bergstrom, a young painting student at SAIC and one of the mighty Jose Lerma‘s students. I must say I approve. Big, awesome, weird paintings made out of lots of stuff like floss, glue, string, paper and paint, of course. Check it out!
I apologize for shameful self-promotion, but I really couldn’t help myself. Here are some shots from The Power of Selection Part 2, the second installment in my 3 part conquest to bring work to Chicago that otherwise doesn’t get shown here. Check it out!
Daniel Albrigo is a young New York based tattoo/visual artist. Mr. Albrigo has some serious talent in all facets of his art making, just check out these Genesis Breyer P-Orridge inspired paintings…
In all honesty, I’m usually very dismissive of photography. Alas! Young Chicagoan Jessica Labatte comes correct with some seriously amazing still life photographs! Lots and lots of images after the break, enjoy.
New stuff on view by Alex Lukas and Matt Leines @ Sf’s Guerrero Gallery, opening tonight!!!!!!
I stopped by Melissa Oresky’s studio the other day. She is a Chicago painter who has been around for a minute and makes some really nice landscapy paintings with lots of collage and drawing thrown in for good measure. Check out what’s going on in the studio!
Jose Lerma is a New York based painter and professor. Drop out of law school and paint! Delightfully humongous. Just in case you may not have seen the almighty Book 2. More after the jump….
Ambitous artist and force of nature, Mike Rea, never disappoints. Check out these life-size wood sculptures and be impressed.
