The Dollar Re-De$ign Project

Conceived by creative strategy consultant Richard Smith, the Dollar Re-De$ign Project seeks to breathe new life into US currency. The last time our currency was dramatically changed occurred back in 1928, so Smith believes that it is time to update our currency to represent modern America and its values. Every year since its initiation in 2009, the Dollar Re-De$ign Project takes submissions for currency proposals from around the globe. Hopefully one day the US treasury will actually consider taking one on!

The two images up top are from the winners of 2009 and 2010, Ani Ardzivian and Dowling Duncan.

Future Perfect- And The Winner Is……..

Beautiful/Decay and Prius Projects are proud to present the winner of the Future Perfect project. It was an extremely tough call but after many days of disscussion we are proud to announce Corey Thompson as the grand prize winner! Not only will Corey get a Beautiful/Decay care package valued at $300 from Beautiful/Decay but he will also have an exclusive interview in Beautiful/Decay Book: 6.

We had originally planned on featuring 70 runner-ups in book:6 but having received so many amazing contributions we’ve decided to increase the artist count to 100! Each runner up will have their submissions featured in the book, creating the ultimate creative book filled with visions of a better tomorrow. We can’t release the names of the runner ups just yet but stay tuned for more news as Book: 6 develops!

P.S. To reserve your copy of Book: 6 make sure to subscribe! It is the only way to gaurantee yourself a copy before it sells out.

Our Future Perfect Contest Has Ended!

fpost

Thanks to all the artists who submitted work to our Future Perfect call for submissions. We had well over 250 submissions for every single state in the US varying in medium from kinetic installations to drawings. It’s going to be extremely difficult to select only 70 artists from all the amazing submissions. In the next week we will be contacting artists who have made it into the book as well as announcing the grand winner who will get their very own exclusive interview in Beautiful/Decay Book: 6. Thanks to our sponsor Toyota Prius Projects for working with us to make the Future Perfect book happen and to promote and support new and emerging artists!
