Issue Z was to be the last in our lettered series of magazines, and to pay tribute to the road that got us here, we’ve revisited 26 artists featured in past issues. Some of those artists include Pepe Mar, Erik Parker, Scott Anderson, Julia Randall, Skwak, and Aya Kato. We also featured some new artists: Matthew Monahan, Anders Oinonen, Chrisitan Achenbach, and Mickalene Thomas. Issue Z became somewhat of an inside joke as people would often ask what would happen to the magazine after Beautiful/Decay reached the end of the alphabet, and it turned out to launch our new art book format that exceeded the expectations of the little zine it was when it first began.
