For anyone who has received one of Facebook’s virtual gifts from a lover, or a sultry, romantically-inclined message from a high school crush via Myspace, check out the upcoming exhibition “My Lover The Server” at the Concrete Store, Amsterdam. Digital artists Champagne Valentine, above, have created a series of looping animated wallpapers that explore the notion of internet romance, drawing on real digital communications with web stalkers, strangers and actual lovers, inviting the public to remotely interact with the artwork. The exhibition, as Carrie from Sex and The City might type onto her 90′s Mac, can’t help but wonder…..Are .gifs the new bouquet of Roses?

“My Lover the Server” opens October 16th next week, and runs until October 31st.

Dutch illustrator/designer Parra has done some seriously cool work. His posters, which he plasters throughout Amsterdam, are apparently highly sought after, as are his limited edition Nikes, shirts, skateboards…you name it, Parra has done an illustration for it. His style is very 1970s, with a hint of sleaze.

With over 12 years of experience, designer and art director Diddo Velema has worked with a diverse range of clients, such as LABORATORIVM and Modernista!. Having taught at the School of Arts in Utrecht, Netherlands, and having contributed to various international projects like Frank Gehry’s Sentosa and UNESCO’s ICAT project in Costa Rica, Diddo just recently started up his own studio in Amsterdam. He aspires to blur the boundaries among art, design, architecture, fashion, photography, product design, etc. as often as possible. And he does it so phenomenally!
