Andrew Kuykendall

AndrewKuykendall

Andrew Kuykendall is an LA based commercial photographer- I like his  vintage washed out soft palette and use of polaroids in high fashion spreads. Oh and the pug, above. (Ziggy in a hundred years?)

Roger Deckker

Roger deckkerRoger Deckker is an amazing photographer. From landscape to fashion, his work is so rad! With the majority of his fashion photography in black and white or low color saturation, the emotional strength of the image is on point. His photo editing is very fun and creative, which he uses to depict more of a classic 70s style to his images. Check it out!

Hasisi Park

Hasisi Park
Hasisi Park’s photos are at times crude yet tragically endearing. She’s worked with clients like Converse, various fashion lines for Seoul Fashion Week, and has also been featured in a couple fashion/art magazines. I love Hasisi’s info page, as the items listed there have almost nothing to do with usual bullets info pages and CVs, but instead reveals happenings that perhaps impacted her creative work. Though it’s difficult to truly understand someone through looking at a webpage, I feel like I’ve become to feel her work a little bit more.

Lina Scheynius

Lina Scheynius

Lina Scheynius has been one of my favorite photographers for a while now. The nostalgic hazy atmosphere that she creates in her photos really taps into my inner sappy-self. Her photos are always so honest, looking though her work is like looking back on photos of your past…except they’re not yours..and they look far more interesting than reality. I know it has been done before, but her point and shoot photos are some of the most beautiful and successful documentations of life that I’ve seen today. Scheynius has been working more with fashion photography, and I think she’s well suited for it because her work is incredibly romantic and she always makes the mundane fantastic.

Rachel de Joode

Rachel De Joode

Rachel de Joode is one of the most well rounded designer-artist that I have seen today, I had originally intended to post only Joode’s photographic work from ‘I Close My Eyes Then I Drift Away’, but when I checked out her website I was taken away by The Noir Collection (2005) and Les hors d’Oeuvres Collection (2006). Rachel de Joode combines photography and patterning to create wallpaper. I think her use of portraiture and repetition makes for layers of interest. From far away, these designs are stylish and ornamental , up close they become beautiful photographic patterns.

Ari Abramczyk

Ari Abramczyk

Ari Abramczyk is a Los Angeles based fashion photographer specializing in underwater photography. I love how Abramczyk creates an added layer of interest in her photos with vivid colors and light patterns. She really utilizes the unique qualities of water in her photos. Granted, all things underwater look pretty cool, Abramczyk just makes it cooler.
