Pepa Prieto is very much in touch with her inner kid; her playful doodles are complex while maintaining the spirit of innocence and fantasy. Prieto is truly multi-talented, designing not only for print, but also television, and even airplanes for MTV! Did I mention that she was also a pro snowboarder?
Graphic designer/art director Julien Vallée makes graphic design and typography tangible by pulling it out of the computer and constructing his art out of actual physical materials, creating an effect that is quite explosive. He excels in creating both still and moving imagery, often for magazines, (including the New York Times Magazine), and other high-profile clients like MTV.
This is motion design studio Animatorio’s latest animation. It’s an open title sequence for MTV Brazil’s Rockgol. This design team uses 3d, 2d, programming, and stop motion techniques to create their awesome videos. To see more works by them visit their Vimeo!
Austin Watts’ work reminds us of all the finer things the 80’s had to offer, like VCRs and Huey Lewis. It’s that fabulous, American Psycho lifestyle that Bateman personified so well, minus, of course, that nasty business about human mutilation. His unique aesthetic has attracted some big names, including MTV, and we’re excited to see where Watts will go next–as long as it’s not to his remote storage unit where he hides the bodies.
Design studio POGO, based in Argentina and makes beautifully slick commercial work, was commissioned by MTV to re-create the identity of the MTV 16 and Pregnant (don’t think I need to explain what this show’s about…) in collaboration with MTV World Design Studio Buenos Aires. I’m not certain how I feel about the new image for this show, it’s a mixture of fear, disgust, and hilarity. And being generally torn about the direction of my moral compass. I don’t know, what do you guys think?
So these guys at Resn kill it, and say it best themselves…. “Resn believes in creating pretty things from absolutely nothing… is that possible? To drive hard without brakes and crash in a fiery ball of flaming metal as brakes are for losers. Holding your head close to the speakers stack at Concert of Life all you hear is the bass, which makes you go deaf. So don’t be silly, stand at the back with us where all the hot chicks dance. Away from all the sweaty people.” They have a point. Make sure to check out more of these crazy New Zealand Kiwis.
