Columbus, Ohio based Illustrator, Adam Levene, graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design with a BFA, and attended Illustration Academy for an extended study. His illustrations have a very classic style to them with a very strong sense of narration. Out of everything of his work, I really enjoyed his portraitures. Not only is he consistently generous in story, but character as well.
Kime Buzzelli, born in Ohio, is currently located in Los Angeles. Her work derives inspiration from music, voyeurism, magazines, story telling, and fashion. She paints a colorful, mystical world filled with beautiful ladies. Buzzelli as well explores 4 dimensional art as a costume designer and an installation artist, which showcase her love for clothes and printed fabric. Love her work? Daniel Shea’s new series “Plume” is an ongoing photographic examination of coal-fired power plants in Southeast Ohio. The plants loom in his photos, part of the daily lives of the residents. The photos are poignant and revealing. Ohio-born and based artist Dan Olsen works with multiple mediums ranging from ballpoint-pen drawings to mixed media installations to stop motion animation. I particularly like the drawings, which recycle images from pop culture into freaky teenage collages. Note: the above image, entitled Weed Dogs, was a collaboration with fellow illustrator Grant LaValley.
