Broken bones, badass dogs, big on loitering…  Brendan Klein’s name even sounds thrasher. My skateboarding days may have ended the first time I couldn’t make a turn, but with these photos I feel like I’m getting a proper look into a world I never became a part of. But maybe that’s a good thing….. or I might have ended up like the lovely lady after the cut. My face is the wrong shape for Mardi Gras masks.

Alex Wein is a 19 year old photographer in the BFA Photo program at Maryland College of Art. He seems to have a background in skateboarding, having already been published in mainstream skate magazines (Transworld, Thrasher, etc.), though a great deal of his work, much of which is black and white, has little to do with skating. He particularly excels at portraits.
