With a visual aesthetic ranging from anime and manga, to the French art nouveau movement and traditional Japanese scroll art, Aya Kato transforms a common fairytale or love story into a passionate and vivid art piece.
With the design “Pharaoh,” Kato travels to the sphinx-riddled lands of ancient pyramids to create a royally bearded king transforming in swirling smoke into icons of Egyptian lore, from falcons to jackal heads and beyond.
